Terms of service

These terms apply to animatedsignature.com and to the signatures, banners and campaigns you build with it. Using the service means agreeing to them. If something here does not work for you, write to hello@animatedsignature.com before you sign up.

What the service does

We give you a builder that produces an email signature, the images it needs, and instructions for pasting it into your mail client. Once you paste that signature into your own email, the sending is yours: we are not an email provider and we do not send your mail.

Your account

You need an account, and you are responsible for what happens under it. Sign-in is by a code sent to your email address, a password, or Google or Microsoft, so keep that address and any password secure. One account is for one person; teams and shared signatures are not part of the product yet.

The trial and paying

New accounts get a free month and no card is taken for it. After that a plan is £2.99 a month or £29.99 a year in the UK, €2.99 or €29.99 where the euro is the currency, and US$2.99 or US$29.99 everywhere else, with tax included, and you choose one in Settings: nothing is charged unless you do. Which currency you pay in follows the country you subscribe from, and stays the same for as long as that subscription runs. Payments are taken by Stripe, so your card details never reach us. A subscription renews until you cancel it, you can cancel at any time from the same page, and cancelling keeps everything working until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting your account cancels your subscription first.

Your content stays yours

Your photo, logo, text and campaigns remain yours. You give us permission to store them and to serve them, which is what lets your signature appear in somebody else's inbox, and nothing more. We do not use your images or your details to promote anything other than your own signature.

What you must not do

• Upload anything you do not have the right to use, including photographs and logos that are not yours.
• Impersonate another person or organisation.
• Use a signature or a campaign banner in unsolicited bulk email, or in anything unlawful, deceptive or abusive.
• Point a tracked link or a campaign at malware, fraud or content that breaks the law.
• Attempt to break, overload or reverse the service, or to reach data that is not yours.

Whatever you send with your signature is your responsibility, including that your own email complies with marketing and privacy law where your recipients are.

Tracking, and what you tell your recipients

Link tracking counts clicks on your signature's links and is on unless you switch it off on your dashboard. No opens are tracked and no pixel is added. Where the law where you or your recipients are requires you to disclose click tracking, that disclosure is yours to make.

Availability

We work to keep the service up and the images your signature depends on being served, but we do not offer a guaranteed uptime yet, and we may change or withdraw features as the product develops. If we make a change that removes something you rely on, we will tell you by email.

Security

Every connection to the site is encrypted, and your account, signature and images are stored encrypted. Every account has a verified email address, and a password, if you set one, is never stored as the password itself. Signatures carry no scripts and no tracking pixel, and nothing records when your recipients open an email. Deleting your account removes your images and data and signs you out everywhere.

If something goes wrong that affects your personal data, we will email you without undue delay, and we will report it to the Information Commissioner's Office where the law requires it.

Found a security problem? Emailhello@animatedsignature.com with "Security" in the subject, saying what you found and how to reproduce it. Please give us a chance to fix it before you share it, and do not access or change anybody else's data while testing.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, and everything of yours goes with it. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why when we do. Signatures already pasted into a mail client will keep their layout but will stop loading images once yours are deleted.

Examples on this site

The people, companies, email addresses and messages shown in examples across this site are invented, to show what the product does. The photographs in them are licensed stock images. The people pictured have no connection to Animated Signature and have not endorsed it, and any resemblance to a real person or business is a coincidence.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. We are not liable for lost profit, lost business or indirect loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change we will update this page and the date at the top. A material change will be sent to you by email before it takes effect.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
